The India trip is getting nearer and it’s now only one week left until we go. We’ve got a general idea of what we want to do and where to go, but nothing is set in stone and we’ll probably change our minds when we get there and meet other travellers.
But at this stage, here are some things that are on my list of things to do and places to visit:
- Travelling around the forts in Rajahstan
- Riding camels in the Great Indian Desert
- Tiger safari in Uttar Pradesh
- Trekking in the Himalayas around Dharmsala or Shimla
- Becoming an extra in a Bollywood film in Mumbai
- Learning to cook Indian food in Delhi
- Learning yoga in McLeod
- Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra
- Meeting the Dalai Lama in McLeod
- Seeing the Ganges in Varanasi
- Renting scooters in Goa
- Chilling at the beach in Karnataka
- Exploring the backwaters on a boat in Kerala
And I suspect that with it will come a healthy dose of getting scammed and suffering from ‘delhi belly’.
I’ll be sure to keep you updated.So far we have booked one night in the Fort area of Mumbai and two train journeys – overnight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and overnight from Ahmedabad to Udaipur.
Apparently it’s Diwali the week after we arrive. Hopefully the trains won’t be fully booked.
