Que putada!

We’ve travelled to Madurai, a town in Tamil Nadu in Southern India to visit the Meenakshi Amman temple. It was built in the 16th century and has 12 elaborately carved and painted towers which are 50m high. It’s supposed to be an amazing site.

Every 12 years the temple is repainted, and while this work is carried out the towers are totally covered in palm leaves to protect the paint while it dries.

Every 12 years happens to be 2008. We can’t see anything.
